Engagement is a necessity!

So you have spent a lot of time and energy developing your social media presence. Please do not stop there. If you have done everything right and created content that is important and engages your audience you should receive comments and questions. The more the better! This is the next and most critical stage of your social media strategy.  If done correctly you will start to pull away from the pack. The step you need to do is to engage you new audience and Answer those questions and comments! The benefits are as follows:

1. This is your big chance to solidify yourself as an industry expert. By answering peoples questions you are not only giving value to that person but demonstrating to others that you are a professional and care about what you do. In short this is a corner stone of all social media marketing and it si something that sadly most people forget. People want to do business with the industry leader and shy away from fly by night operators. By building a solid track record of integrity and professionalism you will be amazed at the dividends this pays out.

2. You will inadvertently be building a community with yourself as a leader. By being professional you build trust and a great reputation. In today’s hectic world someone who responds and does so quickly is a rarity and by doing so you will attract more followers.

3. Added Visibility. By engaging people in discussion you create links, and answers etc. This can only increase the amount of content that google and others pick up on increasing your rankings. When people search for you they will find this activity and it will only result in a more positive opinion of yourself and your business. When outsiders see that you are someone who engages your clients and the general public they will feel more confident in approaching you.

Online Reputation Management has the Answers?

So far in my life I have been involved with many different businesses and industries. They all have one thing in common, they all have dealt with the public and man do they have some weird perspective on things. Most difficulties in business are a direct result of poor or lack of communication and a combination of this mixed with bad information taken as gospel by the public. For example when I was young I was a McDonald’s manager. Every single day I came across people who were misinformed on some level. One lady wanted to know what we made the fries from? I don’t know potatoes maybe? (Stop and think of just how many commercials over the years that McDonald’s has made that highlights the fact that their fries are made from potatoes.)

Anyways, if you are in business one of your greatest challenges  is combating ill informed opinions about what you do. Reputation management is one of the tools you can use to combat this. Considering that the internet has made this problem worse. Anybody today can express a viewpoint no matter how ill informed and be heard. If you are in business and this happens to you the effects could be devastating for your bottom line. Not only are you faced with the fact that customers and competitors can freely express their negative opinions of you they can also propagate rumors and lies.

So what is one to do? Well by utilizing the powers of reputation management in a proactive online strategy you can not only offer the public the correct information they need to know i.e. potatoes make fries. You can eliminate and silence the hordes who can negatively effect your reputation. Remember in today’s age of information overload people turn to google to seek answers to almost every situation. What they find when they do look can cost you a fortune or make you one. You decide!

 

p.s. Its not what the fries are made from that make them bad for you. Its the formula 57 that they fry them in that’s laced with chemicals that does the trick.

Social Media as the Ultimate Sales Closer!

So you are a small business person and you have successfully implemented your social media plan. Tweets posts are streaming out and a fan base is slowly growing. Perfect, but now what? How do you capitalize on all of this?

The answer is easy. The single biggest benefit of a professional Social media campaign is that you can now close more sales. How exactly?

My favorite real estate professional uses his new social media presence everyday. He is now averaging 1-2 more clients a month. Its easy, in order for a sale to take place the salesperson has to create a bond of trust and credibility. By directing potential clients to his social media sources he accomplishes this. When these people see his facebook page and it is a vibrant and progressive spot that makes him look like a leader in his field, the client becomes sold.

A dentist client of mine was able to direct his new followers to the major dentist review site and through us they posted an unprecedented number of positive reviews. He used a conventional postcard mailer to prospective clients in a new subdivision and the only thing new was the highlighted comments to check the review site out. The results were astounding he tripled the response rate. The roi on this marketing definitely put a smile on that dentist face.

The point is that when a campaign is done professionally and all faucets work together real and meaningful results are achieved. Your Social Media campaign when done right provides you with fantastic tools to gain the attention of possible clients and then close the sale.
